Shopify Supplier CSV Preflight: Fictional 10-Row Example (6 Review, 4 Hold)

What can go wrong before a Shopify product CSV import? This is a transparent example using ten entirely fictional products—not customer records, client results, or a completed live Shopify import.

The three issue types the sample identified

  1. CSV source lines 8 and 9 (including the header): duplicate SKU. Two products share the fictional SKU FC-DUP. Both are held; the process does not invent a replacement identifier.
  2. CSV source line 10: invalid USD price. USD 8 is held because it is not valid under the expected numeric-price format.
  3. CSV source line 11: formula-like title. =HYPERLINK(...) is flagged as an unsafe spreadsheet input and held for correction.

Result: 6 rows prepared for human review, 4 rows held for source correction. No customer data was used, and no Shopify products were imported or published. These are limited, fictional demonstration results, not a guarantee of outcomes on other catalogs.
