What we want to build, if shoppers demonstrate demand

  1. Log only the purchases you choose. A manual-entry workflow first; we do not need access to your full email inbox.
  2. Know the window. See store-specific price-adjustment and return-deadline guidance with current policy links and exclusions.
  3. Receive useful alerts. A future opt-in service could notify you when reliable, legally accessible price information indicates a possible adjustment or an entered deadline approaches.
  4. Decide yourself. You would contact the retailer and request any eligible adjustment or return; The proposed product would not automatically make claims.

Why retailer rules matter

For example, Target's current price-match policy permits requests for many qualifying purchases within 14 days, subject to exclusions. Best Buy's policy may allow an adjustment when its own price falls during the applicable return/exchange period, with special-sale exclusions. Walmart.com explicitly excludes post-purchase matching when a previously bought online item's price later drops. These differences are why we cannot promise universal savings. Policies can change; always check the retailer directly.

Would this be worth paying for?

Our first question is whether accurate alerts could justify a hypothetical $9/year subscription. We may test other prices if reliable monitoring costs more. No purchase or payment is available today.

What actually exists today?

The live free eligibility checker evaluates customer-entered policy details and explains possible next steps without live price data. A separate local-only purchase tracker prototype supports manual records, basic budget calculations, refund status and calendar-file reminder exports. It is not currently a hosted consumer service. Automatic price monitoring, supported-retailer coverage, email alerts and auto-submitted claims are not operational. No sign-up automatically enrolls you in marketing.
